1. How long have you been an Advocate and when did you realize you wanted to become one?
I began my court advocacy work in 2007 as a Guardian Ad Litem in Miami (Dade County) Florida. I became an Advocate in San Antonio (Bexar County), TX in 2011.

2. What is the most rewarding aspect of being an Advocate?
 Having a positive impact 

3. If you could offer words of encouragement to your fellow and incoming Advocates, what would they be?
Advise (rather than encouragement) I would give:
  • Expect the unexpected
  • Nothing is as it seems on paper
  • Validate all information, every detail
  • Embrace all stakeholders

CASA Volunteer Advocate, Christina Albert, was appointed to the case. She immediately contacted CPS, then reached out to the grandparents and traveled to visit the children.
