When Abcde and Averee’s mom couldn’t provide a safe home, they entered foster care. Their first placement wasn’t better—they didn’t feel safe, and their cries for help were ignored. That’s when they met Mr. Fernando.
Fernando was their constant as they moved through multiple placements, sometimes together, sometimes apart. He took them to parks to play, listened to their worries, and ensured they had space to be kids.
When 7-year-old Abcde was prescribed strong medication, Fernando raised concerns through his CASA report. Meanwhile, their mom worked hard to create a safe home by overcoming challenges and building a support system.
When it was time to reunite Abcde and Averee with their mom, Fernando fully supported the decision. Today, the girls are thriving at home and school and continue to see Fernando as a trusted adult in their lives.
