1. How long have you been an Advocate and when did you realize you wanted to become one?
"I did my CASA training in February/March 2022. I was originally introduced to CASA by Sandra Gonzales who was on the board. When I stopped traveling so much for my job, I realized I had time and wanted to participate."
2. What is the most rewarding aspect of being an Advocate?
"Seeing my kids smiling faces- knowing that by being a part of their journey I can help. Their CPS case worker and attorneys are so busy- just by filling them in on how the kids are doing goes a long way towards finding positive solutions."
3. If you could offer some words of encouragement to your fellow and incoming Advocates, what would they be?
"Try not to let the system or individual parents/kindship/agencies get you down. You can be the positive face for the kids, no matter the bureaucracy or situation."
