FLSA: Exempt

Annual Salary Wage: $53,000 or commensurate with work experience

You will be responsible for the management and implementation of the organization’s recruitment efforts for advocates with a focus on creating connections with the under-represented communities and increasing diversity among advocates in accordance with CASA values.


In this role, you will also broaden community awareness of Child Advocates San Antonio through development of recruitment relationships and participation in events, including social media campaigns and events. You will also be responsible for providing quarterly diversity training to community partners and continuing education and capturing diversity trends and goals. You will also be a part of a Recruitment and Training team that works together to achieve common goals.

The intention of this position is:
  • Meet tight recruitment deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Broaden and build relationships within the community for the recruitment of new advocates
  • Participate in outreach events that expand the community’s understanding of the CASA mission
  • Track data to identify trends to assist in the recruitment of a diverse base of advocates
  • Ensure interested applicants are communicated with by target dates and applications are processed within set timelines for retention and engagement purposes
  • Manage and provide performance evaluations for the Outreach and Selection Coordinator
  • Develops a clear understanding of CASA’s advocate role, court process, Child Protective Services and community resources

 

Responsibilities Include:
  • Develop and implement an outreach plan focused on groups under-represented by CASA advocates, to include, but not limited to, Faith Based, Black or African American, Latinx, LGBTQ, men, and younger volunteers for the purpose of raising awareness of CASA's mission
  • Develop and advance relationships with community to identify potential recruitment opportunities and assistance with CASA’s mission
  • Recruiting advocates to serve the children appointed to CASA
  • Assists in the development of a recruitment marketing plan with the VP Recruitment & Training and in collaboration with the appropriate Mission Advancement team members
  • Attend and participate in recruitment strategies and events
  • Build a diverse pipeline of organizations to assist in serving children
  • Track recruitment trends and goals
  • Provide active feedback and coaching to support team
  • Manage the individual and related job functions of the Outreach and Selection Coordinator
  • Ensure that the Outreach and Selection Coordinator is trained to recruit and participate in recruiting events
  • Ensure that interested applicants and all inquiries are followed up with in the designated time frame
  • Utilize the Applicant Tracking System to communicate and report on statistics related to inquiries, applications, advocates and children served
  • Compiling and reporting recruitment statistics by or prior to deadlines
  • Participates in a minimum of 12 hours of ongoing training annually
Quality Assurance:
  • Conducts quality assurance on a quarterly basis
  • Ensures compliance with National and Texas CASA, OVAG, VOCA, United Way, and Kronkosky grant reporting, as well as, other grants received, as necessary
  • Establishes, improves, and refines as necessary, CASA internal control procedures, including compliance with established procedures and best practices
Qualifications/Skill:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning in Education, Communication, Psychology, Sociology, Law Enforcement, Marketing or related transferable work experience.
  • Two to five years of volunteer recruitment management experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
  • Experience in public speaking with strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and direct others
  • Personable professional with rapport building skills plus strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and plan to meet deadlines
  • Excellent work ethic and strong team player
  • Solid working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Advanced usage of PowerPoint is required
  • Flexible schedule to allow for some nights and weekends
  • Excellent attention to detail and database management skills
  • Proficient with tracking systems, spreadsheets, internet and email software
  • Must be able to work effectively and harmoniously with donors, volunteers and staff
  • Able to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision
  • Possess a commitment to inclusiveness and an ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including key community leaders and organizations
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to sit and work at a computer for up 8 hours at a time
  • Intermittent physical activities include bending over, reaching, sitting and walking during working hours
  • Standing for up to 4 hours at a time
  • Lift up to 25 pounds or team lifting up to 50 pounds as needed
